Mulled Wine

  • 1 bottle of red wine (750ml)
  • 1 orange sliced
  • 60ml honey
  • 8 cloves
  • 2 cinnamon sticks
  • 2 star anise


  1. In a large saucepan, combine the red wine, orange slices, honey, cloves, cinnamon sticks and star anise.
  2. Heat mixture, stirring occasionally, until it reaches a gentle simmer. Be careful not to let it boil.
  3. Taste the mulled wine and adjust the sweetness or spiciness by adding more sugar.
  4. Once the mulled wine is ready, remove it from the heat and strain out the spices and citrus slices.
  5. Ladle the mulled wine into mugs or heatproof glasses, garnish with additional citrus slices if desired, and serve hot.

  Tips for Serving:

  • Mulled wine is best served hot, so be sure to enjoy it as soon after preparing.
  • For an extra festive touch, add a splash of brandy or rum to the mulled wine just before serving.
